DAY 1: Childbirth Education
DAY 2: Continue Childbirth Education and 3 Hour Breastfeeding Course
DAY 3: Birth Doula Intro to Labour Support, Certification, Standard of Practice, Code of Ethics
DAY 4: Comfort Measures and Positions
DAY 5: Emotional Support in Labour, Difficult births, Ideal births, Epidural and Medications
DAY 6: The Newborn and BF, Dice game, PP contact between doula and client, wrap-up, evaluation, register workshop and certificates
DAY 7 One-hour practice with partner
Prerequisites
Prerequisites are to purchase the book "The Birth Partner", Penny Simkin; Interview your mother or someone your mother's age about her own birth experiences, how she felt she was treated, what she remembers of her own birth stories and bring that interview to the workshop.
